LTID Renovation. An Update.

My renovation has taken a slight back foot in the last couple of weeks as Laura Thomas Linens has taken over timewise.  I have been managing a few jobs here and there and although progress has been slow, I’m feeling more and more at home is this unique former Doctors Surgery.

With the ceiling and walls all white washed, painting was completed in the kitchen this weekend.  The results have been unbelievably transformational.  Painting over the wooden panelled ceiling and window ledges has changed the whole feel of the room towards a much more coastal, contemporary style.  A look I’m aiming to project throughout the whole property.

So at 10.30pm on Sunday night I stood rather smugly looking at my new bamboo blinds and smiled.  Inbetween running my little daughter Lilly to riding stables for a birthday party and Olivia and I attempting to SUP surf in good swell, I spent yesterday scrubbing windows and painting ledges to finally complete the painting of the kitchen.  What a sense of satisfaction it was to see the new blinds finally up and a little move forward in this renovation project.

The kitchen is still a long way off completion though.  I’m still to get the joiner to confirm a date to start and build a plywood shelving unit that will incorporate the fridge and make it look ‘fitted’.  I have to choose and lay a floor.  A roman blind needs to be made for the left hand side window.  A new corner sofa is going to be bought (I’m looking for one in black) to fit the right hand corner and finally a new dining table to seat 10 will complete the look, in the middle of the room, with a rug to match.

For now though the renovation chugs on and we are happy that this room is bright, sunny and functional.  The girls and I are enjoying the sun streaming in as the nights get longer and the days get warmer.
