House for Sale, Fife, Scotland

My Dad’s house is for sale in the beautiful Kingdom of Fife, Scotland. It’s a lovely property so I thought I’d pop it on LTID as it’s unique in that it’s quite traditionally Scottish.

The Bothy

A converted stable development, this property is rustic, yet modern, countryside yet community based and would be just perfect for a couple or family who love the outdoors.

The Kitchen’s my favourite room. The old stable divider was kept within as a rustic feature. It beautifully creates two areas. One for preparing food. The other for dining. The wooden beams along the ceiling give an old world feel and create that cosy cottage atmosphere.

The solid oak flooring throughout has aged and worn really well. I love the open fire in the living room. Along with gas central heating this house is roasty toasty in the winter months.

Surrounding Area

Just a stones throw (quite literally) from the property is a Loch. Not just any Loch but a fishing Loch. Owned by the friendly Nicol family Golden Loch is open all year and always seem to have someone fishing on it in a little row-boat all the time, no matter what day or season it is. The Loch is beautiful and creates a seriously idyllic, traditionally Scottish setting.

If you’re not familiar with Fife, Scotland, it’s known as the ‘Kingdom of Fife’ for good reason. The Scottish Kings and Queens of yesteryear used to live and holiday within this county. A short drive from Dad’s house is the village of Falkland. Scotland’s first conservation village and it’s cuter than cute. In 2013 Falkland was the set for the movie ‘Outlander’.

If you’re a cafe go-er (like me, I can’t get enough of sitting drinking good coffee in a lovely cafe) then just outside Falkland (and again a short drive from Dad’s house) is the Pillars of Hercules Organic Farm Shop and Cafe. Sup coffee in the wild flower garden and stock up on all your organic veggies and goodies, this place is a little gem.
