A Day in the Life: Ellen 🌟

A typical Saturday for me starts with coffee and a walk! No matter the weather, you’ll usually find me at Source coffee at Tollcross at 10am with a latte and kronut in hand. Prior to working at LT Co., I was an event manager so having time to go for a walk and coffee with my boyfriend is something I really value. We usually do a lap of the meadows and Arthurs’ Seat before grabbing another coffee from Gordon Street Coffee at Waverley. I’m absolutely addicted to the coffee culture that has grown in Edinburgh over the last few years!
We head home for about 1:30pm and, after a light lunch, I’ll head out to do the food shop! At the start of the pandemic, I started helping out with my Nana’s shopping whilst she was shielding. We now go to the shops together every weekend! I think there have been a few positives from the pandemic and this is definitely one of them. I love hearing all of her stories from the past and how much everything’s changed over the years. By 4pm, I’m back home. I’ll usually take time to potter about the flat, read a book or head out for another wander if the weather’s good.
On Saturdays, we’ll usually head out for dinner or grab a takeaway around 7pm – can anyone ever be bothered to cook on a Saturday? Usually, we’ll get something from Kim’s Bulgogi in Stockbridge or Mother India in Newington. The food is great every time! Bedtime usually hits about 11pm – probably why I’m running out for another coffee on a Sunday!

What I’m Watching: I’m going to choose two programmes that I think everyone needs to watch! It has to be Schitt’s Creek and Motherland. Both are on Netflix and I guarantee you’ll be crying with laughter.
Indie Business: Other than my favourite Source Coffee, Elliots in Marchmont. Great for food and their shop is filled with amazing wines, homewares and treats.
