Antipodes Inspiration

I follow a lot of similar brands to keep up to date with what’s going on within my industry and am always inspired by what’s going down in the Antipodes.  In my opinion Australia and New Zealand have world leading style when it comes to our homes.  Both countries are obsessed with homemaking, DIY and renovations, have reality programmes like The Block and the average Jono will be swinging a hammer on the weekend to work on ‘the house’.

I love Aussie brand Hunting for George.  They’ve just launched their first collection of the year, a new range of Art Prints named the ‘Collector’ series. The collection is an exploration in painting, collage and illustration, together with a curated collection of original photography.

Another brand I follow and just LOVE everything they create as well as they’re undeniable relaxed style is New Zealand brand George + Willy.  Laid back country hipsters George and Willy were friends who started making stuff in a shed in rural New Zealand.  Their products are world-class, well made, everyday simple items.  Their relaxed style oozes through everything they create.  They’re now New York based as well as NZ.  Have a look at the Journal on their site, it’s really inspirational, lifestyley and dreamy.  Laura XO
