Christmas Tree Styling

Hello..

Wow what a whirlwind the past few weeks have been!  Laura Thomas Linens has been offline exhibiting at Christmas Fairs and my days have been non-stop.  I’ve been preparing for this time of year since August.  I’ve made a record amount of candles and all in all this season is shaping up to be the best yet!

The fairs have made me realise how much I miss speaking directly to clients.  The success of the past few weeks has given me the confidence I’ve needed to officiate my desire to open a physical shop and cafe.  Yes cafe!  Before I started LTL I used to buy and sell cafes.  It was a case of finding a cafe that had gone bust, refitting the interiors, trading for an amount of time until the accounts looked yummy and then sell.  It was doing this that I realised how much I loved interiors which in turn led to the birth of LTL.

So going full circle and flying solo this time, 2017 is going to a search for a location to turn into a homewares retail shop and cafe.

Wish me luck!

Christmas Tree Styling

I love this time of year.  Our house gets covered in candles and every year I bring out my gorgeous little nordic christmas tree decorations.

This weekend we’re off to get our tree and last night I was searching for alternative ideas for what to stand the tree in.

I fight every year with the silly stand I bought years ago.  That’s now bygones (it got binned last year – a sanity measure for this Christmas).  Have a look at my findings, I love the look of a Christmas Tree in a wicker basket.  Then again the sheep skin around the bottom and covering the floor does give the tree a cosy feel, which could be lovely considering how crisp and frosty it has been here in Scotland.

I’ll be blogging more in the lead up to Christmas.  My wreath making classes in collaboration with Coach House Creatives Art Studio start on Thursday night, so stay tuned for some tips on how to make a wreath for your front door as well as styling tips for your table coming soon.
