My new Timeless Towels are here with a bang for Summer 2016.
So what inspired me to design and source them?
Well, during the summer months when you spend more time outdoors there is always a need for a handy textile. In my case that’s on the beach, where we head for afternoon swims and bonfire suppers.
Other uses include; an outdoor picnic in the park, a light summer towel to take on holiday that dries easily and fits in your handbag and hand luggage, a mat to sit on at an outdoor concert, a shawl to take away the chill of dining alfresco, a swim towel for the local pool for school holiday entertainment, a picnic in the park blanket, a beach mat, a blanket to cosy under while sitting in the garden with a mate drinking wine, the list and ways of using these ‘Timeless Towels’ is truly endless.
You might have noticed that this is the first time I have introduced colour into my designs (expect more). Light pink and grey are a fantastic combination. Classic and timeless, my 100% cotton towel will wear well for summer seasons to come.
My girls and I tried them out on a two week Easter Holiday in Portugal. Used and used and I was pleased to say that after 14 days of beach and pool action they were in the same condition as when we had arrived. That’s when I knew I was on to something. Like all my products, durability is an important factor to me. Products have to last. I don’t want the LT brand to become a throw away label where you purchase a product, only use it a few times before it’s no longer in good condition. LT products will last.
I designed them and sourced a wonderful factory in Turkey to weave them. They are 100% fair-trade and it was a wonderful experience dealing with a turkish textile business that was so easy going and willing to please.
