“Laura Thomas Co has evolved from my love of nature and creating all-natural chemical-free products for our homes”. Laura Wilson, Founder + Creative Director.
LT Co Aim
Laura Thomas Co aims to be recognised as a leading UK sustainable lifestyle brand providing natural and refillable products for chemical-free living, personal well being and zero waste for our planet.
Energized by the natural coastal surroundings of North Berwick, Scotland where we are based, we’re inspired to create home fragrance, soaps, and textile ranges made from natural ingredients and fibres.
The LT Co Story
About the Founder
Laura, a former hospitality industry entrepreneur, found her love of interiors and natural homewares while buying and selling eateries in the UK and New Zealand. It was the process of transformation that inspired Laura to create spaces that flowed, were simplistic and decorated with natural products and fibres.
The seed that was planted
In 2012, while walking through a local market in Nelson, New Zealand, Laura found pure cotton embroidered bedding from Vietnam that was not readily available on the high street. That encounter planted a business seed.
Laura, then an ex-pat Scot living in New Zealand, found while residing in the Antipodes a distinct lack of choice when it came to 100% cotton goods. Laura Thomas Co was then born. Based in Auckland, LTCO. first started trading supplying all white, embroidered bedding made from 100% pure cotton.
From New Zealand to the UK
In 2014, for personal reasons, Laura Thomas Co relocated to Scotland.
There was then a dramatic shift. The UK market was saturated with white bedding. Being that this was the product that LTCO. was solely focused on along side a newly created all natural Lavender Soy Candle which had been launched just before leaving New Zealand, Laura decided to change the LTCO direction. Inspired by her 10 years of coastal living in New Zealand which had sung to Laura’s core. The sun shone, kids walked to school barefoot, the simple beach life and slower pace of the day resonated with Laura.
Laura decided that her love of the slower pace of living in New Zealand would be the mindset and the ethos of her life in Scotland. She set up camp as a single mother, by the beach in Gullane, East Lothian with her two little girls then aged 4 and 6.

At a time when the UK began to take note of recycling, no plastic, healthy eating, yoga and buying locally and buying natural products, which New Zealand was light years ahead of, Laura decided that LT Co. would focus on only products for the home that were 100% natural.
Back in Scotland, the early days
Inspired when out walking along the coastal paths of East Lothian, Laura’s desire to steer LTCO. to create products that were purely sensory for our homes became a very clear vision.
Laura found the smells and colours of her local coast line extremely uplifting, energising, calming and forced her to be mindful and present in that moment.
It was on those walks that Laura realised that scent and colour are very important to well being.
The LTCO product offering began to expand. An all natural candle range was created using 100% pure soy wax, essential oils and cotton wicks and later a matching scent diffuser range.
Thereafter, the range expanded again to offer pure cotton and very colourful blankets, towels and beach wares.
LT Co. Product Growth
Starting in 2012 supplying all white 100% cotton bedding, the LTCO product offering has grown substantially since it’s beginnings.
An all natural soy candle range came next, followed by a complimentary all natural scent diffuser range. Other product ranges include Towelling, Blankets and Beach ware.
In January 2019 LTCO. launched a new Coastal Range inspired by coastal living in Scotland which includes 4 elemental candles, hand wash, shower wash and bath salts. Followed by a totally natural Hair Care in 2020.

LT Co ‘Made in Scotland’
All production of our scents and soaps are manufactured in-house and can proudly claimed as ‘Made in Scotland’.
All candles, scent diffusers, and soaps are hand poured in small batches with ingredients sourced from the UK. Laura’s candles are handcrafted in small batches using soy wax blended with pure essential oils, creating an infinitely superior scent throw. LTCO scented candles have been recognised as some of the best ‘clean’ candles in the UK, featuring in The Times’ and Scotsman newspapers.
LTCO also designs all homewares in house and works along side hand picked artisanal producers in Portugal, Vietnam, Turkey, Greece and Morocco. Working directly with suppliers allows for passing on good prices for quality homewares. As well as strict quality control checks. Laura would never work through an intermediary company nor middleman.
At LTCO all paper packaging is 100% recycled and 100% recyclable, from creation in 2012 Laura decided not to use plastic where possible and most products are filled in glass.
In 2020 LTCO relaunched some of the products in new paper packaging made from 100% recycled coffee cups. Made in a mill in England this new and innovative paper looks to the future of the circular economy and reuses packaging in a positive way.

LTCO Refill Concept
In 2018 we introduced ‘Refills’. We are still working on making every single product refillable. Clients can refill the original bottle or jar with our refill pouches and will reduce recycling waste on local recycling plants, which, in turn is better for the environment.
