4 Self-Care Tips for the Weekend

It’s October and self-care is essential!  The weather has changed from sunny Autumnal to rainy Autumnal, the clocks have changed so it’s darker in the evenings, so what can you do to keep your mood high and your body balanced?

Self-care has never been so important.  During these times of uncertainty, it’s essential to regularly give ourselves some self-care.  We take the car in regularly for check up ‘s and our minds and bodies need the same.

So how can we help at LTCO?

1- Run a Hot Bath

Sprinkle some of our Lavender Bath Salts in a hot bath and relax in the hot salty water.  Bathing in salt crystals stimulates circulation, hydrates the skin, increases moisture retention, detoxifies the skin and helps heal, scaling irritated skin.

2- Light Scented Candles

Autumn and Winter are the perfect seasons for lighting candles.  As I type this I have a candle burning and it’s 3 pm in the afternoon.  As the darkness of the day creeps in light a candle be let yourself be lifted with the scent and the warming glow.  Or like our Scandinavian counterparts light a candle at breakfast time on a dull day.  It will instantly lift your mood.

3- Get a Good Night’s Sleep

A night of good sleep is essential to our well being.  It not only boosts our mood but also our immune system.  At the moment with baby Ossie waking 2 -3 times a night I’m using my Lavender Pillow Mist to aid my brain into a deep sleep quickly when I return to bed after feeding.  One of our most popular products at LTCO it’s a lovely bedtime ritual and a perfect little slice of self-care.

4- Do an activity you’ve never done before.

During 2020 there are so many new online workshops that have popped up.  Join a crafting workshop or learn a new skill all from the comfort of your home this season.

Learning a new skill helps you learn things faster over time. By stimulating neurons in the brain, more neural pathways are formed and electrical impulses travel faster across them as you attempt to process new information.  This in turn is the ultimate self-care brain booster.

Why not join one of our online candle making workshops?  Make a candle and find out the do’s and don’t’s of all things candles on one of our live workshops.
